The sticker requirement also applies in Darmstadt (approx. 32 km), Frankfurt am Main (approx. 34 km) and Offenbach am Main (approx. 39 km). In Rhineland-Palatinate there is currently no low emission zone – the nearest ones are in neighbouring federal states.

The green sticker is the same throughout Germany – once bought, it is valid in Wiesbaden and in every other German low emission zone.

Why the sticker still belongs in your car

  • The green sticker is valid in all German low emission zones – buy once, drive in everywhere.
  • Checks in low emission zones take place without prior notice – including vehicles from other cities and from abroad.
  • Ordered online, delivered by post – no appointment and no visit to a garage.
  • Vehicle registered outside Germany? You get the sticker with the vehicle registration document issued in your country – what matters is the number plate, date of first registration and vehicle identification number (VIN).
